Fuego - Maya Hotel
Cross the bridge and escape to Mexico ... it's only five minutes away! Fuego is an everyday celebration by the sea, reminiscent of beach town vacations experienced in Mexico. As you enter the restaurant, you will enjoy a lively bar featuring a menu of modern Latin cocktails, margaritas, and the region's largest selection of tequila. The adjacent room seats 60 for both dining and drinking pleasure. The colorful decor is designed by awarding-winning DPS Interiors. A true feature of Fuego is its use of both indoor and outdoor space. An expansive patio with seating for an additional 80 guests enjoys a commanding waterfront view of downtown Long Beach. The breakfast menu features a variety of both American and Mexican specialties. The dinner menu features authentic Mexican cuisine with a focus on marisco (fresh seafood) platters. Everything is served in the spirit of sharing on unique and colorful tableware.
I really was hoping I could give 0 stars. In short, DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!
Aside from the raw tamales with no flavor in the parts that were actually cooked and the store bought buffet for brunch, this restaurant has the WORST customer service in the history of the world.
The waiter, Brett, had no idea how to serve a table of 10. He brought everyone the wrong food. Then, he mixed up everyone s checks TWICE. He charged me ten times the amount I was supposed to be charged!
When my account became over drawn, I notified the restaurant manager, Brian Wright, he did nothing. I notified the day manager, Pietro Malinverni, he did nothing. I notified the hotel manager, Greg Guthrie, he, shockingly, did nothing. No one cared!
They basically said, eh, wait a few days, it ll correct itself. It was TEN TIMES the amount of money I meant to pay! Then, they all stopped replying to me via email when I let them know I d be writing this review.
They don t have impressive food, but, the customer service is really where they are lacking the most. GO AT YOUR OWN RISK!
Honestly, don t go at all. If you want good mexican/latin food, there are SOOO many other places to go in this area. The view hardly makes up for the poor food quality, poor service, and general lack of care for guest concerns.
.I will NEVER return and I will make sure none of my friends do either.
