I went there because I had a coupon. I now know why they offer coupons because they don t get repeat customers due to the lack in service. The food wasn t bad but the service was terrible and they weren t busy. I went on a Sunday around 11:30 a.m. before the church rush. My husband actually had to get up and go find our server once because we needed silverware and again to get our check. He found the server camping out in the bar area talking to the bartender...... Needless to say, we won t be repeat customers either....
Went Friday night with another couple, the place looked to be at about 75% full. Service was amazingly slow. Took a good 20 minutes to get our first beers and then anther 30 minutes to get the second. By then the food arived and I pretty much finished my entree with no drink. Our waiter who mostly did a disappearing act said the bar was busy so I went and looked and there were only about 15 people there. Had to flag down another waiter to get our check. Food was OK but not worth the aggravation of the extremely poor service. I will not return.
I love good Mexican food and Pepper's is one of the few good Mexican restaurants in the River City. The food is fresh and tasteful, the staff is friendly and attentive and the service prompt.
This is one of the better Mexican places I've been to in Jacksonville. It is clean, the ambience is fantastic, the wait staff is friendly, and the food was great. The cheese dip for the nachos is awesome. I especially enjoyed the fajitas, and my wife enjoyed the carne asada. The fish tacos are pretty good too. There were some good drink specials as well. The location is in a decent location off of Atlantic Blvd near other shops.
We love this restaurant! It's kids friendly, they have outstanding service and great food. I have a messy toddler that spilled food all over and they saw me picking up and they ran to stop me and they did it for me. Very nice, comfortable and clean restaurant, great food, great staff. I feel very comfortable going there with my family. Kids eat free on Sundays!
The service isn't very good. It is hard to understand the wait staff since they do not speak very good english. They can cook though. The white cheese nachos are amazing. I am glad we don't live in Arizona they might ship the wait staff back to Mexico.
The service is horrible! We waited forever for our drinks and food. The waiter would leave and then not come back to refill our drinks or check on us. Then when we went to pay the bill the waiter gave us our check and another table's check. He had already charged our card, but we showed him the other check to make sure he didn't charge us for that one too. He disappeared for at least 15 minutes then came back to tell us that the computers were frozen. We said all we wanted was our credit card back because it showed that we had already paid. He disappeared again. We asked other waiters to help us. They said they didn't know where our credit card was. We waited at least a half hour and then my husband demanded the card back from the manager. At this point all we wanted to do was leave. We were not the only customes dissatisfied this evening either. Two Grandparents and their three small grandchildren ended up leaving because they wouldn't let him pay cash. They also waited forever for their food and they believed that the waiter failed to put their order in for an hour. Another woman and her daughter were there and also waited as long as we did for their check. It was disgraceful! We were then verbally abused in the bar section full of people by a woman working at the bar who had nothing to do with our situation. She was rude and was yelling at my husband to go home. It was a terrible scene and we were horrified and embarrassed at the way we were treated. We then left the restaurant and went home to find that they had charged our credit card twice! I called the manager who said he will call me tomorrow after he checks into the duplicate billing. He apolized but it was not sincere. I WILL NEVER PATRONIZE THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN!!! This was not our first time at the restaurant. The last time we were there the service was extremely slow. We were with a large party, so we gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried to go there again. BIG MISTAKE!!! They do not realize that the customer should come first and you should try to please your customer, not abuse them!
VERY VERY good Mexican food!! I haven't been to any of the other Mexi restaurants in Jax since Pepper's opened. Good looking restaurant (used to be an nice steakhouse) with lots of private booths, good prices, friendly wait staff and the food is fresh and delicious! The salsa is fresh, the chips are always hot (and they keep them coming at no extra charge), big tequila selection and the fajitas are THE BEST. Highly recommend.
