As someone who eats out a lot I am always on the lookout for a new and different place too eat. So when I herd about a place on the South Side that was all the buzz I had to find out for myself. I arrived on a Wednesday night about 6 Pm and sat at a table in the bar. We were the only one at a table so the bartender waited on us himself. I recall my date and I wondering if we were wasting our time as no one else was in the place. I had a draft beer which I have to say was the coldest and freshest I can remember in awhile, my date had a White wine. We enjoyed our drink and conversed among ourselves for a few minutes before we asked for menus as we were not sure if we would stay to eat even though that was the plan.
The bartender whos name was Bill brought our menus and asked if we were in before and if not how we happened in tonight. I explained we had herd good things about the place and since we enjoy eating out we thought hey lets give it a try. By this time a few people started to come in and sit at the bar which kept Bill busy until our dinners were ready. I had the Chicken Florentine and my date had broiled Haddock. The first mouthful was not even swallowed before I realized I had died and gone to Heaven this meal was unbelievable it sang to my taste buds with an array of flavors that have to be experienced, as I looked at my date she did not put here fork down or look up from her plate until it was gone. I new without asking that hers was as delightful as mine. After conveying our sincere pleasure to the owner (who was also the bartender) we went to the bar for a night cap and enjoyed Bills stories of how he came to South Scranton from New York .
I can not say enough about this cozy little family run restaurant. I can only say if you have not been to Mollys you should try it once trust me you wont be sorry. It is a place that will be on my list to return and return often. So go enjoy good food fair prices and owners who are always glad you came.
