This osteria is located in Calle del Magazzen near Santa Maria Formosa. Da Remigio is characterised by professional staff and good service. The menu features risottos, pasta dishes and appetizers made from fish from the lagoon and shellfish. Try the go a lagoon fish which only Venetians have heard of. The wine list is good, and offers a range of local and national varieties.
Me and my best friend Lexi traveled to Italy last summer. While in Venice, we stopped at this delicious Restaurant. The Da Remigio has very pleasent waiters, and the Calamari was delicious!!!!! The waiter was soooo nice, and he gave us free mints and toothpicks on the way out. The waiter let us choose our meals freely, and we could get free refills of our drinks!!!!!
All in all this is a great Restaurant, and Lexi and I DEFINETLY recomend it!!!
The reason we reserved dinner for four (two couples) was because a friend highly recommended this restaurant as one of her favorites in Venice. Unfortunately, there was nothing we liked about this restaurant. From the moment we sat down, we were treated with such disregard that, prior to ordering our meal, I suggested twice to my dining companions to pay for the wine and walk out. Just a few examples: the waiter had a real issue interpreting some of the dishes on the menu; we could not order several of the appetizers unless all four of us had the same thing; we were advised by the same rude waiter that we had to order two courses each and had to place our order at once with no opportunity to review the menu. Moreover, the waiter had the gull to criticize several of our choices as something that we should not order while dining in Venice. One wonders why these choices were on the menu in the first place. Less than a month after our experience, I can barely recall what we ate. I only remember that my grilled calamari were not cleaned of their intestinal contents and I left the entire meal on my plate. A punch line was that we were charged eight (8) Euro coperto (bread charge) and 12% servicio was added to our bill. A very terrible and expensive dining experience. I must add that we have not experienced such poor service in any other restaurant during this trip to Italy or any other trips we have taken abroad.
Pal Zileri the menswear line from the Forall group has opened its show room here. The selection is good, the
sales assistants are very polite, and the decor is in keeping with the label's image.
