Sweet Water Brewery Company
Relocating from Colorado to Atlanta in 1997, Sweetwater Brewery has brought a western flavor to the burgeoning Georgia microbrewery scene. As many as six different kinds of beer are brewed under the Sweetwater label at any given time, depending on the season and the progress of new recipes. The company's impressive brewing and bottling facility also offers tours. While most people enjoy the interesting and informative tour, the most popular stop is the last, where guests are invited to partake of a sampling of recent batches.
For $6 you get a glass (you keep) and six tickets good for 6 half-filled drinks. This allows you to sample all their flavors plus enjoy the atmosphere of hang'n with your friends. Band plays music and everyone has goodtime. Great way to unwind after work!
I'm origionally from New Orleans, LA and recently moved to Atlanta. Some friends brought me to Sweetwater Brewery after work one day, and now we're there every week. For $6 you get a Sweetwater glass, a relaxed interesting tour of the brewery and 6 beers, so you can try them all and find your favorite...if you can choose.
The atmosphere is great, with a good mix of the after-work crowd, hippies, couples, etc. Live music plays on the patio on some days, but the atmosphere is always lively, yet laid back. I recommend it to locals and tourists alike.
It reminds me of being back home in New Orleans, where everyone is cool, laid back and friendly, and you are enjoying a fine local product
Looking for a change of pace for happy-hour? At 4:20pm on Mondays and Thursdays this is a great time...I highly recommend!! For $6 you get a pint glass and coupons to try their great line-up of beers for free!! With different bands performing weekly, alot of talent, and an outdoor venue...you can't go wrong with using this as a perfect watering hole for all to meet at before you go out. Parking is free, but you may end up walking since it is only on the street but well worth it.
