Description

A delightful place for the kids as well as adults, Jungle Island is a great way to spend a day outdoors. Located just minutes away from downtown Miami, the park is full of birds and animals. It was started by Franz and Louise Scherr, who wanted a place for their birds to fly free. Today the park is also home to many animals such as penguins, orangutans, crocodiles and even tigers. There's also the Treetop Ballroom where nature fans can have their events, planned to the last detail by their in-house staff.

The place is so expensive and cheap! They lost the Value that they once had. The atmosphere was the worst and all of the staff was bitter!

average tourist trap

expensive! parking was $6 and admissions was about $27 - over 50 for two people (one senior, one student!),don't even ask what things inside the gate cost, because trust me they were not worth it! The park is cramped, and the layout is horrible. The staff was helpful, friendly almost apologetic. Shows were okay, but nothing spectacular though. Overall: a very average overpriced tourist trap: not worth the drive from the mainland.

nice to take your family

i used to go as a child, been there like 6 times and everytime i go i see something different... its a nice experience for families to go and for kids to have fun with all the activities and the cool animals to see, theres a dancing area thats pretty cool.. its a good traditional place for families to go and spend time like on a sunday afternoon :)

i don`t think i`ll be there

i found to many negative reviews that i don`t think i will go there in a couple of weeks when i will be visiting miami with my family, specialy if it is overprice like everybody says, i`ll pass this atraction.

Excellent shows

We liked the reptile shows and the people putting on the shows. They really knew what they were talking about and made it entertaining for the adults as well as the children. The feeding of alligators after the show was awesome, those guys were just like the crocodile hunter!!!!!

Majestic

What I loved about this place is of course the birds. The beauty was unimaginable and it sent shivers down my spine with every glimpse I got of the majestic plumage of those extraordinary creatures.

I Will Never Go

I have not been to the new Parrot Jungle because of all the negative comments I hear. I live in Miami and when Parrot Jungle was on Red Road, it was lush, natural and beautiful. Lots of shade, walking trails, and reasonably priced. You could go there and have breakfast while watching people with the parrots. Now I hear it's $30 entrance fee plus $7 to park. Too expensive for senior citizens living on a fixed income. This is not California folks.

Jungle Island is awesome!!!

I loved the one on one encounters with each animal.Every animal were clean and well groomed.The staff were nice and attentive.Its a nice place to take your kids and have a nice time yourself.I cant forget about these who orangutans Peanut and Pumpkin.They were adorable and funny...Oh yeah I fed young Kangeroos.They even had Penguins , how cool is that!!!! Miami Bird Style

Parrot Jungle is a great place to spend the day with family or loved ones. It's nature at it's finest. It's a great place to go to get away from the busy city life and relax! oh, yeah you might also learn something new.
