Getaway Charters

We recently had the chance to take a quick trip down to Gulf Shores, AL and fish with our friend Capt. Don aboard the Getaway. We took a 6 hr trip along with our kids. We all had a blast catching snapper and mackerel, even my youngest. He was amazed to see his first dolphin! A great family outing! We are still enjoying sharing our pictures with our friends.

Captain Don and his deck hand Gil are excellant hosts and focused on great fishing and good times for their customers. We have been out on the Getaway 3 times in the last 12 months and have thoroughly enjoyed each and every trip. Captain Don does a wonderful job finding the fish and Gil is the most outstanding and friendly deckhand I have ever been around. His patience with children (of all ages) is unmatched. We have caught a wide variety of fish, including large red snapper, grouper, king mackerals, and even a shark. Each time is just as exciting as the first. I highly recommend this charter service.

Our family had a blast on the Getaway when we recently visited Orange Beach, AL. We were a little hesitant about taking our kids fishing since they had never been out on the water before, but Capt. Don assured us that his deckhand was really good with kids, and he was absolutely right. We had a chance to see the dolphins playing, and the kids had a blast watching the birds fly around the boat. It was really exciting to see our little boy hook his first fish - the deckhand cheered him on and made sure that he got it into the boat. We had a great half day cruising, and were never even out of sight of land. The views were great! Thanks so much, Capt. Don! We will be back soon!
