Don't eat outside

I never gave a $0 tip in my life until I sat outside at the Dublin. It was about 80 degrees, humid, sticky-waiter came, took our drink order, brought them. Took our lunch order and I asked for a salad-hold the peppers. Out came my salad smothered in peppers, so I sent it back and then out came my husband and son's food then no one ever came out again. No dri\nk refills, nothing, no "how is everything?" That was the last I saw of my waiter or any other human life. We were the only idiots to sit outside, but I have a 5 year old and try to respect the quiet enjoyed by other diners, so we suffered outside alone and were completely and totally forgotten. He brought my salad out about 30 minutes later, long after my husband and son finished, and we both just laughed at him, not to be rude, but it was funny. We sent it back and asked for the check. You would think my salad sitting alone in the kitchen somewhere would prompt another waiter to say hey, where does this salad go? It was a steak salad with hot meat on top. I would not be writing this if it was the first time. Have sat outside before and been forgotten. If you must go, sit inside, the outside is like a vacuum that sucks the brains out of the wait staff. The wait staff sort of get-by, no extra effort, at all, ever. They take for granted that people will go because it is a l local joint and the food is decent. There is no trying at all. I have not been back since.
