In response to Dena's post, I would like to say this water park is not only a great value, but it's truly enjoyable for the whole family. I believe I atended the water park on the same day for my sons birthday, I can vaguely remember a child hitting their head off the wall. Coming from working in the water park business even if a little bit of blood was dripped into the water the chlorine which is tested several times a day so I'm positive there is plenty of chlorine, any way the blood would have dissipated from the chlorine and been broken down, there would have been no trace of blood anywhere. It would be like trying to find one needle in a haystack filling an entire acre four feet tall. It wouldn't happen. That is why there was no reason to "shut down" the attraction. As for the not being any life guards around, there were plenty of them, and I myself needed to visit the 1st aid room. Places like these don't just open up for business either, you have to take into consideration that all the pumps have pump the water through the filters and what not. Where would you honestly want the fresh water to come from? The park would have drained Lake Erie by now if thats where you wanted them to take the water from. So in the end I think this is a wonderful place, and there's more to see especially since they are putting a wave pool in very soon. I will be going back soon, and hope anyone who reads this has a great time
This indoor water park was disgusting! You will be so disappointed! The park is build underground. It is unsanitary and they use recycled water that seems to have no chlorine. The park was over crowed. The rest room had Nat's. The water was slimy. The staff was unpleasant. I'm still trying to figure out how there are bathrooms, food and water play all in the same stuffy area. The slides are unsafe and the lifeguards were not on point. I watched a 6 or 7 year old boy go down a slide cracked his head on a wall dripping blood in the water and they didn't even shout the slide down to clean the water. I'm a caring mother that has visited several amusements attractions over the years but have never seen any thing like the Splash Lagoon. This place is overrated and will not be what you expected.
the whole park was amazing. i was not expecting such a huge and fun park. we could of been there 4 days and not been bored once! there are a variety of really fun slides to ride and i cant wait to go back next year!
This waterpark was absolutle horrible. The food was awful, the slides are not that great, and it is no place to bring little kids. There are teenagers that run around just stomping on little kids. Stay away from Splash Lagoon and Scott Enterprises.
first i read alot of these reviews the night before we left and was praying to see it all untrue. we stayed at the econo lodge which was good and clean. then our first day at lagoon was awesome no long lines or long wait to get on water slides. hade a blast we hade children from the age of 1 to 16 years of age and they never got bored. the second day was awesome to other then the lifeguards practicing it looked so real. but it made me have a panic attack. out of our trip the only bad thing was the live play of a rescue of a drowning person. think maybe lagoon should do that on there own time its brutal for young children to watch that. we will be back soon..i think the staff was awesome and the place was clean... thanks tracy from ohio...
Just got back, we had a great time! We stayed at the residence inn, it was connected right to the park which was great. We took our 7 month old and he enjoyed the little water geysers and the bouncy chairs, it really has something for everyone. I cant wait to visit the place again1 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
I visisted Splah Lagoon with 3 other adults(age 25-30) and we staryed in the Residence Inn Marriott Hotel. The suite had a kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, stove ect. We had a full living room with Fire Place and 2 seperate bedrooms with a bathroom in each. The water park also has other hotels to choose from. They have a full Bar and plenty of restauraunts to choose from ranging on your price range. Alos most of the hotels and restauraunts are smoking as well including some hotel rooms. There are alot of children of all ages BUT it was still a great time. I would recomend going on off peak weekdays or weekends. Definately worth it...also buying a package deal is the best way to go..you save money and you get the best for your dollar!
We found this indoor waterpark to be dirty and crowded. The locker room was disgusting, the pool area was also dirty and littered. It was so crowded we had trouble keeping track of the kids. For families with children under 10, we really think Great Wolf Lodge in Sandusky is a much better destination
