rustic and beautiful

We had a family reunion at the park and really enjoyed our stay. May parents and sibling stayed in a delux cabin. It had everything you need with a very funky 70's style. My husband and I camped in the campground. It had a nice clean bathhouse but strangely, it was always closed for cleaning for an hour in the morning when everyone wanted to use it! The trails around the campground were nice but we didn't get all the way down to the lake as the poison ivy became too thick. We saw deer and raccoon from our site and enjoyed listening to the train, off in the distance, every night. The park has a huge pool with two very springy diving boards that my 7 year old loved. You aren't allowed to bring anything to eat or drink into the pool area (even though there is a grassy area) and there are no trees or umbrellas so the sun can become oppressive. My only real complaint is that the park is big on rules...not just the pool...but also the campground. The kids were not allowed to ride their scooters and the helmet law is strictly enforced. Other than that, it's a lovely, inexpensive, rustic retreat.
