Beutiful sunset that is always changeing,
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/05/09
The biggest fish (nurse sharks and others) seem to be caught more at the end of the pier. Doesn't seem as crowded as shorter ones do. A short walk for such a long pier. Nice people there.

Going back soon .
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/05/09
One of my friends invited me to go to the bridge with him one day , & it was fun . We caught half a medium sized ice box of croakers . Some of them weighed over a pound . We also caught some other kind of fish too , Toad fish , I think . We used a box , & a half of squid that night . By : Gerald B. Mike H. of NC

Small croakers
By clemchem, 08/19/09
We were in town for my daughters' college orientation. We stopped by the pier for a few hours to try it out. We bought some shrimp and squid and were setup for bottom fishing. Started out slow. I was just letting the bait sit on the bottom. Lost a few rigs due to some type of structure in the water. Moved down the pier 50 ft and that fixed that. Started to slow retrieve shrimp along the bottom. Started catching smallish croakers every 3rd cast. Had to leave to meet my daughter for dinner. Went back late at night but thunderstorms washed us out. Careful on parking. Parking on the right side of the lot is for the restaurant.

Trip of a life time
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/10/09
I took my 70 year old uncle on August 1, 2009, and my cousin, who has never fished before, and they are ready to go again. We did not catch the big one, but we are looking forward to going again to do that!

First Time Visit
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/07/09
My family and I went because we had heard so many exciting things about the thrill of catching fish. We caught only a few, and someone was kind enough to share a few of their fish with us because of the hassle of cleaning them. Which was great !!!! Later we were informed that we had a "Summer Flounder" that was underweight. Honestly, because this is our first time there, we were not aware of any regulations of the number of certain type of fish we could catch, nor the required weight, size or type of fish that we could keep. Therefore we were given a citation. It would have been a more pleasant visit, if something was posted informing fishers of the regulations there, and noting that a citation would be given if anyone violated these rules. For first-timers (even though employees would not know this) a warning should be given, considering that no regulations are posted. I

IT WAS WORTH THE 5 HOUR DRIVE.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/06/09
I CAME FROM SMYRNA, DE JUST TO GET AT THE CROAKERS AND MAN-WOMAN!!! FOLKS WERE PULLING FIST UP AS SOON AS THEY PUT THEIR LINES IN THE WATER. I WENT ON THE LAST WEEK-END OF APRIL OF THIS YEAR. {09} AND I AM PLANNING AS TRIP AT THE END OF MAY. IF YOU COME TO FISH AS A FISHERMAN AND NOT A TOURIST-FISHERMAN YOU WILL NOT WORRY ABOUT WHAT THE PIER LOOKS LIKE AND IF THE BATH-ROOMS ARE CLEAN LIKE YOU ARE IN A HOTEL.[ GET YOUR FISHING ON AND GET IN WHERE YOU FIT IN- AND HAVE SOME FUN CATCHING THOSE FISH.

N C FISHERMAN
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/27/09
I fished 04/22/09 during the wind storm and the Croaker fishing was great. Caught 12 to 16 inch Croaker all afternoon. I took about 30 home and released between 30 to 40 more. There were only about 10 people fishing during the afternoon, because of the weather. I would like to see more reviews

Really like this pier!
By s, 03/23/09
We caught fish all day when I was here a year ago. The bathroom was clean and the people were very nice. Hey, It's a very big pier and It's old. If you want a nice bathroom go to Micky D's and eat a fish sandwich.

hit and miss
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/18/09
im young so walking to the bathroom, i dont mind it.the fishing there is hit n miss just like anywhere u go when the fish are running its good but when its slow its SLOW.when we go we stay for at least 10 hours i recommend going at night around 11 o'clock most people start to leave.i would recommend you bring plenty of drinks, snacks, bait, chairs and lights find a nice place to post up everything and enjoy the night sky.we use 3 to 4 ounce weights and cast towards the power towers.2 nice tricks to catch fish when other are not drop your line right over the edge of the peir and reel it up a foot or two off the bottom and the other is soak your squid in fish oil you will be amazed how many fish you catch when other are pull in nothing.try new stuff on your bait sprays, oils, anything really something diffrent in the water sometimes makes all the diffrence.
