I ordered an arrangement with soft, pink orchids and short, broad leafs to compliment. But the arrangement delivered was completely different! Tall bladed leaves and sharp, pointy, orange flowers that look kind of like pincushion protea. Jeff's Flowers said the flowers I ordered were no longer in stock; so they sent a different arrangement in its place. I can't believe they completely changed the order without my permission! If they substituted flowers were similar in color and style I would have been ok with it, but these were totally different. You cannot expect the substituted flowers to go in the same room as the original flowers. These flowers were a big thank you to dear friends and meant for display in their waiting room for show to guests. Now they have a hideous, freaky-looking plant sitting there. I think they should throw it out. The worst part is Jeff's Flowers did not see this as a problem and would do nothing to remedy the situation. I don't really care for a refund. I just want my friends to get the flowers they wanted. I am extremely displeased with the service. Pros: Flowers did get delivered. Cons: They will change your order out from under you. Poor customer service.
I recently ordered flowers from Jeff's and the arrangement was not what I ordered. I complained, they promised to 'look into it" and follow up. Nothing........
I order flowers frequently and will not use this florist again - thier guarantee is a joke.
I've have been a customer of Jeff's since he opened his doors 17 years ago and he has never ceased to amaze me. No matter when I call, he is always happy to accomodate. Not only does he offer creative floral arrangements, but his customer service is unparalleled. I won't use anyone else.
Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience ordering from Jeff's Flowers, Of Course. They did not deliver a plant on time for a funeral and while they were quick with the excuses (and a couple of untruths), they never once bothered to apologize for their mistake. Furthermore, they expected the grieving family to go to the funeral home and pick up the plant that they delivered a day late. Simply unacceptable in my book. I would NOT recommend using this florist.
I ordered flowers for my parents anniversary. The vase arrangement was GORGEOUS, packed with beautiful roses, orchids, lilies.... I went back to visit my Mom 10 days later, the arrangement was still on her table looking like it had just been delivered. Even the roses were still beautiful - AMAZING!!
I handled the flowers for my mother’s second wedding. I met with the coordinator on two different occasions and emphasized the importance of bright and vibrant colors for the arrangements. We wanted the white daisy with the yellow center, Gerbera daisies, and deep coral roses – the ones that when you look at them the first time they look pink, but if you look again they look orange – and LOTS of babies breath. Upon consulting with the florist coordinator, she indicated that we could use several less expensive flowers as ‘fillers’ to make a bigger statement, and also suggested using champagne-colored roses in conjunction with the coral roses to add some subtle elegance as well. Everything was written up to clarify this, and I told her from the start that I am not an expert on the names of flowers, so I trusted that she would convey our vision on paper and make it happen. We met with her once more just a few weeks before the wedding – the bride, groom, and I – just to settle any last-minute concerns, and made a few changes, but nothing of significance, and nothing to change our request for bright, vibrant colors. The day of the wedding came, and when the flowers arrived, they were all an off-white cream color, and only a few vibrant-colored flowers had been delivered. In addition, we asked for 10 bags of coral-colored petals – we received 2 coral, 4 beige, 2 pink, and 2 hot pink & yellow. We ordered a cake arrangement for underneath the cake – 18” in diameter and 6 columns – standing about 12” from the table. We received a 6” in diameter arrangement with little vines extending from it that (I am assuming) was supposed to fill in the rest of the space. In the front of the sanctuary we had two 5-foot tables – each with two- 3-tier candleholders – the arrangements for those tables were to be low-lying arrangements extending the length of the table full of daisies and coral roses and baby’s breath. We received two vase arrangements that had to be placed in between the candleholders. These are just a FEW of the problems we had. When I called them frantic because of the lack of color, they sent someone out with about 6 dozen of various hues of roses in the coral family. The woman delivering them was very abrupt with me when she said they prepared the flowers according to what we ordered, and the bright colors were not part of the order – that they would be charging me for the additional delivery and flowers, so I had to provide them with my credit card information and we would settle up with the cost after the wedding. They never charged me for the roses, HOWEVER, I requested that someone call me after the wedding to discuss this further, and I never heard from ANYONE. I finally called to talk to Jeff, and he said that he was sorry for the trouble – our coordinator had been fired…she had a vision for arranging, but wasn’t good at conveying other people’s requests to the arrangers on paper. He said that he would look at my file and get back in touch with me, but that he remembered our order and felt like we got our money’s worth with the added flowers we ended up with. A few days later, I got a call from one of his employees stating that he was not able to call me that day due to another matter he was dealing with, but that he would call me the following week. I haven’t heard anything more from him. I will never use them again, and I don’t recommend them to ANYONE!
I also used Jeff's Flowers for my wedding and the table arrangements (@ $60 EACH) were no where near what was described in my written contract that we had with them! I contacted the florist 3 days after the wedding through email, received a call that the owner would call upon return from vacation, never heard from owner so followed up with another email. I did receive a response the 2nd time with the owner claiming that it was "his fault" yet all the customers who came in while he was making the arrangements loved it. He also made sure to point out that even though the arrangements he made didn't match what we had written down, I received my "monetary value" of flowers! I guess that was his way of saying that he wasn't going to do anything about it. The whole situation is sad because his store came with recommendation from two wedding planners in the area - I made sure to call and let them know of my situation so that hopefully no one else will go through this! Weddings are a once in a lifetime kind of deal for most people and I don't think it's too much to want to receive what you request/paid for, especially when we're talking about $1,000! I wouldn't recommend this florist unless you're open to whatever they decide will suit your wedding reception when the day rolls around.
I went through Jeffs Flowers for my wedding. We spent a total of $3,000.00 with them for the ceremony and the reception flowers. The day of my wedding, they delivered everything on time, however the flowers were not what they were supposed to be. I specifically asked for OPEN roses, hydrangeas and ranunculas. The roses were not opened and there was not one ranuncula in ANY of my arrangements or my bouquet. I was told that the reason the price was so high was because the ranunculas and hydrangeas are so expensive, so why were they not even used?? Everything was written down in a contract, all the specific flowers. We were never contacted about there being a problem getting the flowers. It is just ridiculous to be so disappointed on your wedding day by a company that you have spent so much money with. There are less expensive florists out there who actually care.
I had no clue what to get my girlfriend for valentines day but i spoke with an employee at Jeffs and they knew exactly what to do. They gave me a reasonable price for a wonderful arrangment, and delivered it right on time on such a busy day. I am highly thankful and greatful for the help they gave me, and for saving my Valentines Day.
I recently married and moved to Minnesota after living in Newport News for 24 years. While living there, I used several different florists, but one day I found Jeff's Flowers and tried them. I have to say, after the very first order, I was hooked!!! Their arrangements are out of the ordinary, and the flowers they use are extraordinary and quite beautiful! Every arrangement I have ever sent received rave reviews, and the arrangements I saw myself were unlike any of the run-of-the-mill type you'd get at some other florist. If there was a room full of flowers, the ones from Jeff's ALWAYS stood out and drew the most compliments! Now, whenever I need to send flowers to family or friends in the Hampton Roads area, I make sure I call Jeff's directly so I KNOW I'll be sending the best!!! If you want to send something special or want to impress, Jeff's Flowers is the one to use!
