Dixon Hill Lighthouse
Description
Built in 1856, this lighthouse still stands as a sentry to illuminate Graham's Harbour with its kerosene-fueled lamp. Light emitted from the 160-foot structure can be seen from 19 miles away. Apart from serving as a beacon to ships, the lighthouse affords the best view of San Salvador and a host of inland lakes. The operator on duty will give you a quick tour and explain the archaic machinery. The tour is technically free, but a donation of a dollar on your way out is appreciated.
