Bay View Cruises, the way to go.

When faced with choosing between the Bay View Cruise and it's competitor located on the other side of DeMillo Plaza, I compared services and prices. Both cruises offered the identical Lighthouse and Seal tour, a good boat with a snack bar and schedules. However, at half the price, Bay View was a great value and I am glad to have chosen them.
Our cruise was an hour and a half of pure relaxation. The tour was interesting, the captain talked just enough, but not too much. He was open to speaking with passengers individually in the cockpit. We saw and heard about the various lighthouses in Casco Bay, the military forts and islands studding the bay and the sea creatures living in the waters. Points of interest on the Portland wharf were pointed out and discussed. The playful seals popping up in the waters were identified so passengers could position themselves to take photos.
I highly recommend that you try the Shipyard Ale at the snack bar. It is an offering from a local brewery right on the wharf and it is served icy cold on-board.
Enjoy a cruise that is neither too long, nor too short with Bay View Cruises and I think you will be glad that you did.
