This wasnt the first tour we have been on. The tour guide was ok think he has done it too many times. But since most people spend 50 to 100 $ in the store you would think the sales people would be nicer they have a chip on their shoulder. The whole place is very unprofessional I would not buy their beer for my resturant after this experience.
I have NEVER been a beer drinker. A buddy turned me on to a Pumpkinhead Ale, and I have been buying up all I can find. Alas... just when I get addicted I must stop drinking it. Until the residents and business owners of Portland find out who the idiot is who dreamed up letting illegal immigrants VOTE in Portland, many conservatives in New England will be avoiding Portland and their products and services like the plague. Find the person and hold them accountable because the boycott has begun already.
We recently took a tour of Shipyard Brewery. The tour guide, (JJ I think was his name) was informative, very funny, & entertaining. We bought 3 CASES OF Their Beer & Root Beer, and JJ carried it ALL down the street to our car. Being advanced in years, this was much appreciated. The tour was free, but we would have gladly paid for such an enjoyable experience.
We used to live in Maine, it was so great that a local beer was available in the stores, restaurants and bars all across Maine. We've moved away now, and are so sad not to have Shipyard beer any longer. Try it, you'll love it. All of them are good, though the Fuggles is my absolute favorite!
My husband is addicted to Shipyard's Pumpkinhead Ale, so we went to the brewery on our last vacation. There were some younger gentlemen working who told us we could ship the beer back home through UPS, so we bought two cases. However, they were mistaken since Maine does not allow alcohol shipped out of state, so we had to carry two cases of beer on the plane.
At any rate, they were very nice and let us try some samples. We also grabbed a couple shirts and shot glasses. If you want to try some new beer, stop by!
