Riverwinds Restaurant, West Deptford

We just came back from dinner. The restaurant is attractive and has nice views. The foods was awful. The entries were so poorly prepared we couldn't believe it. The vegetables were grossly undercooked. The baked potato was hard as a rock. The filet was horrible. It was shocking. On a positive note the salads were very good and they didn't charge us for the barely touched entries. We are not picky people. We've never had this happen to us before. We won't go back.

Riverwinds was great for my wedding! Bottom line, price was good, service was great and the view speaks for its self. to see the city and river at night lit up was amazing!!! worth every penny. no one has a better view. go to Riverwinds at 7:30 at night eat dinner in the room and tell me im wrong. ashley and ted

Went to dinner for Mothers day. The food was the worst I have had in a long time. The prime rib was fatty fatty and cold so where the potatoes. We waited one hour to get are food. No good wines by the glass. The service was not good either. I will not be coming back, and what a shame it is a pretty place.

Do not EVER believe a bad review about this restaurant!! Gorgeous waterfront in south jersey, with delicious food. They did such a beautiful job on this place and the views of the planes and city are amazing. There isn't a restaurant in south jersey that you can compare this place to. Perfect for a romantic date night, baby shower, wedding shower, engagement party or a birthday party. I had my baby shower there and my mother and I couldn't of been more happy with the service and food. I was extremely impressed. Go there it's Good!

We recently celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at the Riverwinds Resturtant and we rated our overall experience five star. Darlene, George, Joe and staff (servers) couldn't have done a better job. The food was just excellent, it was served hot, on time and presented beatiful. The feed back from our guest was all positive. We highly recommend the Riverwinds resturtant.

I could never recommend this restaurant, after the experience we had. My husband and booked our wedding there in September of 2011, six months before the event. When we walked in, we loved it due to the aesthetics and location. I wanted to have the ceremony outdoors and we were promised that we could be married on the patio (which wasn’t built at the time) and have our reception in the banquet room. We created a custom package and were quoted a price. We put down a deposit that night and chose our date. A few months had passed and we hadn’t heard anything from the management regarding our menu and other details. We went in for dinner twice and had to ask for a manager to inquire about when we would be setting the details for our wedding that was FOUR WEEKS away. We finally set up an appt, after calling and basically harassing the manager to meet with us. This was not the same manager who booked our wedding. We were told 3 stories about why that manager was not there: he was in jail, he was paralyzed or that he was just fired. They are dishonest at this restaurant!! When we met with the manager, he was confused about what was written from the previous manager and basically told us they could not give us half of what we were promised. Most importantly, we could not be married on the patio, because they couldn’t possibly close the patio for 2 hours on a Friday night. They would lose too much business. What about the wedding we booked here 6 months ago!? The patio was the reason we chose this location. So, we were four weeks away from our wedding, and we were totally disgusted with the service and the attitude of the manager. He was unwilling to work with us and compromise for what the previous manager had agreed to. We didn’t have time to find somewhere else. We did end up getting married on the patio after meeting with the owner. So, our wedding day had come. I thought we would get by without a problem, but we were wrong! They even tried to end our reception an hour early! The DJ came up to my husband and told him that the manager told him to end it at 11, not 12. These people are rude, have no customer service skills and are disrespectful! Just to add, the servers were great, the management was the problem! We will never go there again and never recommend this place!

Love this restaurant with one exception - consistency. An item on the menu can vary in presentation, not getting the 'wrap' mentioned for the item....the list can go on. My one major complaint is consistency in their drinks. Our particular group really enjoys the Riverwinds tea - every time we go, we inevitably have a waiter who just doesn't know what it is. I've even made a copy of the description of the drink from their menu to show the waiter who in turn can show the bartender. On one visit, it took 4 tries to get it right. This is inexcusable - if a drink appears on the menu, it's hard to believe there is not a recipe that every bartender can use to make it exactly as described. I'll go back, but I've decided to not pay for this drink if ordered again and is not presented as it is described.

I recently experienced Riverwinds Restaurant with a bunch of friends. We had a great time. I made reservations and when we arrived we were seated within a few minutes. The restaurant is gorgeous and the view of the Delaware is stunning. To start we ordered a bunch of appetizers like there Cheese Steak spring rolls, Crispy calamari with hot peppers & Jumbo lump crab cocktail. Everything was spot on, we gobbled it up! For our main entrees we chose Filet Mignon (which was perfectly cooked) Spicy Thai scallops and there Crab cakes which where stuffed with jumbo lump crab. We had great service, excellent food and drinks. We had a great time and will be back for more!!
