This place has terrible food and the service is worse. Need to focus on hygene esp. Johnny Cash wanna be manager (if you need to pick your nose do not do it on the open floor in front of customers!) Absolutely horrible place. And before you accuse me, NO I AM NOT A FORMER EMPLOYEE! I am, I mean I was a customer.
- Mason jar beverages
- Mini cornbread muffins
- Nobody at the door on a Saturday night
- Had to ask for silverware/napkins
- The platter I had was a mess of fatty pork and brisket in sauce. The 1/2 chicken was the only thing that was decent...overall presentation horrible and no offering to try various sauces available...had to ask for side of bbq sauce it came out in a side cup with a spoon...obviously not proud of their sauces.
I was surprised to hear one of the owners was from Chicago where there are a number of examples of good bbq. I don’t see this place surviving unless they drastically improve things and bring in live music on a regular basis. A management presence would help the overall feel of the front of house operations as well. On a side note the bathroom checklist in the men’s room is dated the last week of April...minor detail but it is clearly displayed on the back of the door.
I wish I had read the other reviews before entering your business.
My experience was much like the others. In this economy you will not make it if you don't change things. Our meat was cold and the presentation left much to be desired. For some reason they seem to ration their BBQ sacue, which when the meat is so dry you need just to get it down. The cold slaw was swimming in something which made it unappetizing. You guys need help!!!!
I went to the bar to place an order to go. The service was good, but the prices are kind of high.
I ordered the catfish and was given a huge piece of fish that was suupose to be cooked with cornmeal, but I have no idea what the crust was but is wasn't cornmeal. It was like eating the fish straight from the grease. They didn't even soak up any of the grease. When I ask for fillets, I would like to see 2 or 3 not 1 huge one that breaks into pieces when you try to pick it up. The sides were okay, not the best that I have had. The macaroni and cheese was just big penne noodles with a little cheese sauce not real macaroni and cheese and as for the baked beans, they had a very unique flavor. Bush's baked beans has got this place beat. The best thing was the onion rings, although you don't get very many. I should have kept driving by this place like I had been doing since it opened. Not worth my hard earned money.
I think that they need to start over with new cooks and recipes because they will not last unless they get a lot of people to come who do not know what good food taste like.
This was my first and last trip.
What a nightmare experience. This place should close the doors now and save everyone their money. The Manager (Pete) and all the cooks should be fired. Service was horrible! It took nearly 1.5 hours to get our food and then when we did, the chicken was dry, they put sauce on dried pork when it was asked to specifically put it on the side. My sweet potato was baked in aluminum foil and there were flakes of the foil inside the potato. Then we got some BS excuse that most of the staff was sent home because they were slow and no prepared for the rush of people that came in..yea right! Good luck to everyone who is decent and work there, you'll most likely be out of a job soon because that place is gonna sink like the Titanic. In today's economy, you have to do it right all the time, every time. And the food? I cook better stuff in my backyard $100 BBQ from Home Depot in half the time. What a joke of an establishment! The owner's name is Achilles ( well his achilles heel is the Management and Cooks!)
