Waited for half hour to be seated at a table not that they are busy there are many empty tables. Got to the table waited another 50 minutes for food. Food taste okay but every items are over priced compare to other authentic Chinese restaurant in town. Ordered black bean clam and all shells half of them without the clams.
If I feel like Chinese food, I order from here!!! It's so good!! It is sad and weird to me that anyone has had a bad experience with them. I have ordered take out many times and have always been super happy! They have the best fried rice, Chicken lo mien, and Sweet and sour pork. Yum!! I will order again soon!! I think the problem is that 100's have been happy and don't write a review and the few that had a less then perfect experience left bad reviews. Just my guess.
Most of the dishes taste really bad compare to other chinese restaurant in town, if you are interested in the weekend chinese dim sum, go other places that is nearby state street. The foods are overpriced, and I can taste mouthful of MSG. you can see many servers running around however you not really getting the services on time.
Conclusion; overpriced, poor quality foods and slow services.
I had never eaten at Red Maple, but I had heard many good things about it. My parents had eaten there several times and enjoyed it as well. We went on a Sunday afternoon to celebrate my Grandmas 82nd birthday. It was really pretty busy. I noticed the lazy suzan in the center of the table was covered in some sort of film and there was food on my husbands chair and quite a bit under the table. It was a bit unsettling, but since it was my Grandmas birthday, I decided to just go with the flow. I really wish I hadn't. Our meal was served alongside our order of pot stickers. I grabbed one and poured some of the sauce onto my plate, dipped it and took a bite. As I went to dip it again, I noticed a fly marinating in my sauce. I was mortified. I immediately called the waiter who quickly whisked away my plate and apologized. He came back and asked if we wanted them to recook the entire order or if we just wanted to cancel and leave without charge. We wanted to leave as nobody was remotely hungry after the fly in my food. As we had only consumed 6 soups and 5 sodas, I thought it was quite fair to not pay. I ran outside to get some air while the rest of my family was still inside. They came out a few minutes later and informed me they were forced to pay. Forced to pay for fly-infested, uneaten food? The manager also acknowledged to them he was aware they had a fly problem but hadn't yet brought in an exterminator!!! He also said the fly in my food was an accident and not their fault. I guess it was my fault for having the poor judgment to eat there. I did go back inside to complain about paying after we were told we didn't have to and was told the waiter was mistaken and offered $20 to leave. Horrifying experience.
