Suede Blue, Roseville

Just had dinner there and it was not much service given. We had a group of four people who spend $150.00 for dinner. Our server Shonda did not bother to ask us if we wanted any drinks or desserts. After she drop off entrees she did not once come back to see if our food was OK or not. Really disappointed with the lack of effort on your service staff.

They rarely pay their employees at all. Dirty Indian owners don t know how to run a restaurant

After reading the reviews we choose to give Suede Blue a chance. We enjoyed a $5 drink in the bar before dinner and enjoyed a nice house wine. The NICE stopped there. My wife ordered the Prime Rib and I the New York steak in peppercorn sauce. The Prime Rib was very chewy and luke warm. My peppercorn sauce steak was quite tough, pretty void of flavor. The meats were cooked as we ordered, just the meat being tough. We both left about 1/2 of our meals and when asked if we wished a to go box, we both declined. The wait person was good and attentive. We paid a lot of money for dinner and received less than quality food. We will not eat there again. However, the M-F $5 specials in the bar are worth the trip. In the future we will enjoy a glass of wine and an appetizer in the bar, before leaving to dine elsewhere.

I have to say that as a very good cook at home person, this restuarant actually delivered what they promised! The steak au-pouive was outstanding, one of the best most spot on cooked steaks I have had they really understood what medium rare meant and that is hard to find. The Poke Ahi was excellent and not too heavy. Very fun to eat and the presentation was really cool. The crunchy outside made it like a sno-cone of yummy tuna! The wedge salad you really can't mess up but was still yummy and one salad was enough for two people to enjoy. The sea bass my husband ordered was too good to explain, there really aren't words. I have grown up on the northern coast of California and have eaten fresh fish my whole life, this fish was KRACKIN! He ate the whole plate and to fight me off looking for left-overs!! However the steak I have to say was my favorite! Bravo to the chef, and all who had a say in developing the sauce, very tasty sause! Only thing on the menu I tasted and did not care for was the au-gratin potatoes. Too pungent and not soft, silky, melt in your mouth that you would expect. The creme brulee was awesome and the drinks were very liberal. Service was overall an 7 out of 10. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who asked. I have to say also, the manager's attention to customers and their opinion is so welcome!!! I again say this is an awesome place to eat!!! and no I'm not related to anyone working there or associated with this place the food is just that good!

Whatever you do, dont eat the New York steak in peppercorn sauce. It was so tough and underdone and lacking in flavor that I did'nt consider it fit for human consumption. Instead, I took it home and gave it to my dog since he is not human and wont care. I know better than to send my food back, so I was stuck with a $28.00 steak that I could not eat. For the money, it was the worst steak I've ever had, purple in the middle with the consistency of rubber. I've had better steak at the Sizzler. Bon apetite' Fido!
