Little Alaska Ice Cream Parlor, Mora

S & R Rodriguez This place is more than just a shop, is an oasis of friendliness and great service! In a world of fast-food restaurants and impersonal service we were greatly surprised at the impressive service we received at this charming little shop. Traveling from Texas up to Washington in late September, my husband decided to look for a unique place to buy lunch, there are no chain restaurants in Mora, NM so be prepared. He was told that this shop was the best so he wanted to try it. He ordered his sandwich and handed over his card, but he was told they only accepted cash! He missed the Cash Only sign. I entered the store as this took place, and apologetically, my husband asked for directions to the nearest ATM, trusting people. As I waited I ordered a cone of Black Cherry ice cream, yummy. I was treated as part of the family! Wholesome conversation and a delicious ice cream, what more can you ask for? My husband ordered a sandwich and he loved it as well. Mora is such a small town and Little Alaska Ice Cream Parlor added to our trip not only lunch but good memories and the beginning of a new friendship with owners, Rene & Delia Medellin. Don’t be surprised if when you are there you feel at peace and smiling faces are all you see, even the other customers were friendly, that is not something you see every day!
