After reading many good reviews on this place I was looking forward to dinner here. We went on a weekend specifically because the have BBQ on the menu then. We went on September 12.
When I asked regarding the BBQ food available I was informed “there might be some chicken left.” That didn’t sound very appetizing presented that way.
We started with the fried alligator that was billed as spicy. It was cooked well, not overdone or greasy but definitely not Cajun spiced.
I ordered the Chicken Jerusalem. Sadly it was about as good as you’d get at a banquet. The chicken was overcooked and swimming in a sea of salty sauce. The sauce gave a definite taste of being packaged. The potatoes served with this were cold and came across as being yesterday’s left over baked potatoes mashed up. Perhaps if they were heated through and had something mixed in to loosen them up they would have been edible.
My husband and son both ordered the sirloin steaks. While my husband’s was okay, the one my son got had a definite taste of being old meat. Not aged, but old and on the verge of spoiling. Their baked potatoes were so cold the butter did not melt in them.
The vegetables that were served to us all were also barely lukewarm but very much overcooked.
This may have just been a bad day at the restaurant but it was disappointing. I waited to post this while I searched for a means to email them about this poor dining experience but have not been able to locate that information.
