If you know your Cuban food it s a very good place to visit. The food is good and the service was quick and friendly. I think a common mistake for those who are not Cuban is not researching the traditional plates. If you want to have a traditional experinece spend two minutes to reseach what you want before going. I would recommend the traditional Bistec Milanesa with White Rice and Black Beans and it comes with the sweet fried bananas. The Bananas are to be eaten with the meal.
the food was excellent and the server was a young guy that was very polite and helpful. We had arroz con pollo with soup and salad and it was plenty for 2 people. Had an appitizer and drinks and got out for under $40. They are in a corner of an under used strip mall so you have to look for them. I will definitely go back
Best Cuban restaurant I have ever been to. This place beats the Cuban restaurants that I have been to in Miami! Mi Habana Cafe compares to my parents home cooked Cuban food! The black beans are cooked just like my Mom's! If you like Cuban food and especially if you are Cuban and are looking for a home cooked meal...make sure to visit this restaurant! Yum Yum
My new favorite in Corona. The lunch specials are a great value at $6.95 and the food is tremendous. I have been there at least 7 times and everything I have had there has been delicious (although now I keep gravitating to the Picadillo). No more do I feel the need to drive to Orange to go to Felix's to get good Cuban food.
First of all I must say this restaurant is not in a good location to hard to see from street. We ordered Enchilado de Camarones which is supposed to be a dish of shrimp in a tomato based sauce per menu description. The amount of shrimp was fair we counted 6 pieces of about 31 to 40 count size, the shrimp were over cooked the sauce was bland and their was no visible onions and bell peppers or anything for that matter just a red sauce. The dish was served with a option of congri or white rice with black beans. We chose the congri option which was not bad,it had a nice pork taste to it. The fried plantains that came with it were a frozen kind no fresh plantain although I asked the server if they used fresh plantains and he said yes. Overall the dish was dismal at best. The Cuban bread served was not good too bland in taste they look like the frozen dinner rolls you buy in the supermarket. The server was attentive about our needs, although he had little knowledge of the food he was serving us. We tried the flan, it was extremely unattractive lots of holes caused by air when cooking and looked like it was just holding in the refrigerated displays they at the entrance of the restaurant the whip cream placed on top was deflated and the cherry looked old. The taste was fair, we had two bites and that was enough. Overall the I would give the food from 1 - 10 a 3 at best. Service a 8. Ambiance a 6. Value for money 3. I would maybe return to try something else. Lots of times restaurants are strong in certain areas and weak in others. Once again overall I left feeling I did not recieve value for money.
