It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon, and my friends and I were starving. We decided to drive down to the Shanghai Buffet and were excited about the buffet serving sushi. Our excitement turned to sorrow and bloated stomachs. The food was horrendous. The lo mein and fried rice was dry, the honey chicken had no flavor, and the salmon was swimming in 3 inches of vegetable oil. Let me tell you, it was well worth 12.50 for an all-you-can-eat barfet. On top of that, their sushi was horrible. Who wants a cucumber/cream cheese roll with soggy rice? The best thing that I had was the fortune cookie, which who can screw that up? Eat at your own risk.
We recently moved to the Heights. I wanted to try the shanghai buffet, however after reading the review like usual, I decided not to go. My husband talked me into it tonight, and i was pleasantly surprised. The place was very clean, the decor was good. The Buffet was full of freshly cooked food. I sampled almost a little of everything and to my surprise it was all good. There were some things that werent my taste but not by any means bad cooking. The coconut shrimp was awesome. Good variety of food and good atmosphere. wayo go shanghai I will go again.
