If dancing is what you crave for, then head down to Mansion located in Miami. This place is 40,000 square feet of funky lighting and a huge dance floor. The A-list, top DJs that are booked for performances will surely make you dance. The club has something for everyone, depending on the night as hip-hop and house music switch back and forth. If you are not a party person then you can just lay back and relax while catching the action from the balcony on the second floor. There is also a VIP area for the A-list crowd. The place tends to get very crowded so be sure to get there early.
A big group of friends and I went to Mansion for a birthday party and had a grand time. It had been so long since I had been out with these college friends, and Mansion was a great place to just drink and dance and have a good time. A friend suggested these shots made with TY KU and vodka (YUMM-O!) and that was all we needed to get a good buzz going. Stop at Mansion, grab a drink, and have fun!!!
I used to live in NY and thought it would be nice to check it out. Putting aside the insanely high prices MORE than NY its just rude jerks.
If you enjoy paying lots money for wasting your time by all means go. The place was okay but as a whole it sucked. Wouldnt go again if free drinks
After standing on line for about an hour the doorman finally decided to show up. Once the line started moving, he let everyone in pretty quickly until he got to me and my 2 friends. I was then told if I didn't have an invitation I wouldn't get in. Nobody on line behind or in front of us had an invitation. I then proceeded to ask what the invitation looked like and was spoken to like I was an idiot. After I got off line I took a look around and realized nobody else on line shared my skin color. I guess the doorman forgot that he didn't quite look like anyone else on line either. Bottom line don't waste your time. Doormen have the right to turn people away but just keep it real.
Being that I just moved here from Los Angeles, I was told that I need to stand by the wall inside and wait because my California driver's license was an out-of-state ID. While standing there, I noticed a bunch of "locals" walking right in and not paying any cover. Then they made me pay $20 because I was an out-of-towner. That's a warm way to welcome someone to South Beach.
The charge for my ONE beer was $8. I then went to the main stage to check out the DJ. Some drunk guy kept slamming into me and pushing me. Being that I'm a female, the security didn't even try to stop him.
After being there for only 20 minutes, I had to leave as I was completely disgusted.
I'm so kicking myself for going! The name alone should have given me a clue.
For those of you who haven't yet been to Mansion, here's the 411:
- The staff is rude.
- The DJs were so lacking in skill---I could have thought of that stuff in my sleep!
- The patrons have absolutely NO CLASS.
- Nobody was dancing, just running into people.
- Another over-priced overrated glammed up fashion disaster of a nightlife venue in South Beach.
Bottom line, if you appreciate good underground dance music with a cool crowd, DO NOT waste your time at MANSION.
