Mansion, Miami Beach

Being that I just moved here from Los Angeles, I was told that I need to stand by the wall inside and wait because my California driver's license was an out-of-state ID. While standing there, I noticed a bunch of "locals" walking right in and not paying any cover. Then they made me pay $20 because I was an out-of-towner. That's a warm way to welcome someone to South Beach. The charge for my ONE beer was $8. I then went to the main stage to check out the DJ. Some drunk guy kept slamming into me and pushing me. Being that I'm a female, the security didn't even try to stop him. After being there for only 20 minutes, I had to leave as I was completely disgusted. I'm so kicking myself for going! The name alone should have given me a clue. For those of you who haven't yet been to Mansion, here's the 411: - The staff is rude. - The DJs were so lacking in skill---I could have thought of that stuff in my sleep! - The patrons have absolutely NO CLASS. - Nobody was dancing, just running into people. - Another over-priced overrated glammed up fashion disaster of a nightlife venue in South Beach. Bottom line, if you appreciate good underground dance music with a cool crowd, DO NOT waste your time at MANSION.
