Segway San Francisco Electric Tour, San Francisco

Below I outline my many gripes with the tour, but I think the most appalling thing was that when I approached the owner and manager about my dissatisfaction, he said he would investigate and get back to me in 24 hours. After no response for over a week I contacted them again. It was at that point the he begrudgingly refunded only a partial refund! It has been two weeks since then and still have not received a credit. I have done many tours in many countries and I have even done segway tours, in fact I went on one with a competitor a week prior and loved it. I feel that the level of knowledge and customer service was simply not there. Here is what you need to know about this tour -Segways are really cool -You should take a Segway tour, just not this one -Mittens / gloves, jacket and a camera are a good idea -If you are at the back of the line, you will get honked at by cars…allot -if your in the back you will get cursed at by people in cars….allot -at the end, the guide will have everyone circle up and flat out say “a 15%-20% tip is expected” -the management will deny that they say “expect” and that they don’t press the tips -they engineer it so you feel / look like a total shmuck if you don’t tip -the training session is poorly done and other companies do it better and make you feel more comfortable

This is a great way for the family to see SF. The Segways are fun and easy to ride. My 12 year daughter wanted to keep going after the 2 1/2 hour tour! Our guide Karen was very knowledgeable of the history and Wharf area. This is a great change of pace from the boring bus tours. You should definitely do the Segway Tour in SF.

The tour guide was friendly and interesting, and touring sf was ok. Riding the segway itself was awesome. I was thinking that the tour would become boring after the novelty of the segway wore off, but it was a blast throughout and never got old. It was sad to give the segway back. If you've never experienced a segway, the $65 is definitely worth it.

We have segwayed in other cities and put this as a must-do for our trip to San Francisco. We were not disappointed! The advanced trip was great fun. One thing to know - there are two Segway companies in San Francisco, within blocks of each other. While I can't say anything bad about the other, this company rocked! I suggest you make sure you're at the right place - we registered for this company, then almost showed up at the other company's location.

We had to juggle our schedule due to a June rainstorm in San Francisco. The customer service staff went out of their way to get us on a Segway tour that worked with our busy schedule. We had a blast with Chelsea as our tour guide. we trained with 2 groups at one time. the groups we split into smaller groups of 7 each for the tour. Chelsea did a great job of keeping our group entertained. They use radios with an earbud to keep the narration going the whole time. Our 2 teens said this was the most fun of all the activities we planned. the truing before the tour was just as fun as the tour. If we come back we are doing their Golden Gate ark segway tour. Thanks to the staff for getting us on when the rain was not helping!

Nothing bad. Only lots of fun, beautiful scenery and entertaining, informative guides.

This is one of the best tours I have ever joined! The best part of it is, not only is it a tour, you also get to play with this 'toy' while you are touring! Now, how fun is that? For 2 1/2 hours, it's worth every dollar spent.

A couple of years ago I did a segway ride in Paris (what a hoot that was, riding all over the streets of Paree), so when I was planning a weekend trip with my adult daughter in San Francisco, I found this segway tour. It was SO fun. Probably the highlight of the weekend. I know it was for my daughter. After spending the 45 minutes or so with the training (which is really needed, by the way) the tour isn't long enough (just my opinion, since I enjoy riding on the segway so much). Am sure they must be careful where they lead a tour of people on segways, but I wished it had lasted another 30 minutes or so. Am sure they've worked this out very carefully, though (time vs. cost). But, I'd highly recommend it to anyone. There is some agility required, though, so if you have any problems with balance, it might not be advisable.

My wife and I went to Frisco on Valentine's weekend. We took the Segway tour, and did the Muir Woods and Saucelito combination, scheduled for 2/14/08. On our first day, we panicked, since when we arrived at the Beach Street location, there was no bus ANYWHERE for the Muir Woods tour. We had to hike around the city for awhile to figure out what went on. When we went to the headquarters, we ran into Alfredo, who told us that someone forgot to CONFIRM our Muir Woods/Saucelito tour. (UUGH!! :( ) He rescheduled it for Saturday, 2/16/08. That was the only inconvenience/dislike of the tour. Loved riding the Segway around the Fisherman's wharf area. Our tour guide (I want to say Susan) really knew her SF history. We saw some really beautiful parts of frisco. Then on Saturday, we did the Muir woods. If you like the outdoors, you should LOVE muir woods. Big trees, peaceful streams, etc. Not to mention they filmed parts of Return of the Jedi near the redwoods. (I was picturing the Ewok's coming out of their hiding places the whole time I was there. ) Very great tourist attraction. If you are healthy enough to ride a Segway and are in the frisco area, I would definitely recommend this tour. It is well worth it.

We took an "Advanced" tour which meant we were experienced riders. We were able to see much more of the city than we could have on any other kind of tour! Highly recommended
