1st Mariner Arena
Home to the Baltimore Blast MISL soccer team, The 1st Mariner Arena is the city's largest indoor sports and entertainment facility. It is host to more than 100,000 visitors every year who come not just for the soccer team but for events ranging from family shows like Sesame Street Live, Barney, and Barnum & Bailey Circus. Sporting attractions include circuit boxing, gymnastics and tennis events. Conventions, graduations, and performances by U2 and Elton John have also been presented here.
Me and my lady went to the arena for the Alicia Keys concert. The sound quality was pretty good and the atmosphere was good. For an older arena the seats were very comfortable and wide compared to the newer Verizon Center in DC. The concession areas was wack though and the concourse was tiny. Over all I will return because with all these new arenas popping up the seating isn't to good in most of them. But 1st Mariner was smaller and much more comfortable to watch a concert at!!
This is a great place to see concerts! I've seen The Stones and Rod Stewart there! This week I'm going to see Van Halen there! The best thing is that it's not quite as large as other arenas so no matter where you sit, you can see. The person who said the sound was bad at the Clay Aiken concert might want to consider that it was because of who they saw. Who would even pay to see him?
Went to hear one of the Clay Aiken at the Marina. Problem was they are not set up right for music. Very reflective, couldn't hear him sing, our ears were actually hurting. Me and 20 other people had to more to the back of the stadium. I've been at concerts before, this one was bad. I blame the Arena. Stick with sports events.
