Booked direct with Southeast Sea and had a fantastic time with them at Orca Cove. Never kayaked before, and found myself an entirely new passion. They pick you up at the dock in Ketchikan and take 6 people max on 3 of their 2-man kayaks. Seals, starfish and man-eating kelp along the shoreline. Smoked salmon picnic on their boat after the paddle was delicious. You'll be hard pressed to find nicer folks than the staff at SSK. You'll still have plenty of time to do the Creek Street crawl when you get back, but this a great way to get away from the crowds for a while and see another side of Ketchikan.
Great time had by all on a Full Day Misty Fjords kayak trip with Southeast Sea Kayaks. The Fjords were awesome: we were the only people kayaking there. Our guide was lots of fun and we even saw a bear! Cant recommend it enough, if you are in Ketchikan go with Southeast Sea Kayaks.
Orcas Cove Kayaking was awesome. Only 6 people on each trip - what a deal! We received personal attention and genuinely friendly service for the first time on our entire cruise. The kayaking was incredible (we had never done it before) we saw eagles and seals and learned a lot from our guide. The smoked salmon at the end of the trip was the best we had in Alaska. I recommend this trip to all who visit Ketchikan, it was truly a unique Alaskan experience.
