It was a quaint antique house
Unfortunately, the house is only open on Sundays at certain times of the year, once in February for a reenactment and again in December for a candlelight tour. This is why, as a resident of Greenwich, it took me so long to see the inside. The extensive work to the house that was done in the 1970s is very authentic and the house is filled with period treasures. My daughter's favorite item in the house is the cannonball that was found on the property during the restoration. She also loved the story of General Putnam who ran out of the house with shaving cream on his face to get reinforcements from Stamford during the Revolutionary War.
