Lake Placid Public Library
Established in 1883, this full service library houses an excellent collection of rare books related to the history of Lake Placid and the Adirondack region plus features a large selection of fiction and nonfiction books, videos, audiocassettes, and reference materials. They also feature displays of works by local artists, a children's story hour, and a computer lab.
I have a number of pictures that my sister, Brenda, and I took while we were in Lake Placid this past October. Some were with Theresa - the mother of previous class mates. I'd love to share these beautiful photos with the Library. Maybe, I'll figure out how I can do this! In any event, seeing the Library of our youth was absolutely delighful. Thank you, to all those involved, for the wonderful job in mixing the old library with the new. See you next year,
Wonderful atmosphere, very helpful staff and the views of the lake and mountains, both from inside the reading room with comfortable arm chairs or from the backyard adirondack chairs can not be beat!
