VEY COOL Place!
By DesignerFlower, 09/12/09
I remember going here as a kid back in the 80's (our family has a cottage on the other side of the Lake) and I was scarred out of my wits. This summer (2009) I brought MY children (Ages 7 and 10) to the House of Frankenstein and let me tell you... They thought it was AWESOME! Very scary! As an adult, you have to appreciate it for what it is. If you go in and allow yourself to get caught up in the moment, you will have A LOT of fun! For those who say "It was not worth the 15 minutes"... I disagree! When we went in July, Frankenstein HIMSELF was outside so we were able to have some cool photo op's for my Lake George scrap book as well. It's true, this place has been around since the 70's and it hasn't changed. I think that's what make it so cool, and it's why House of Frankenstein will always hold a place in my heart. We will definately go back! This place is a timeless classic!

Great Attraction!!
By Tim, 08/14/09
Wax Museum? ..hardly, every 10seconds there seemed to be live actors jumping out of senery and unsuspectingly chasing us around the museum! Secret passageways / hidden scenes were really cool

A worthy experience
By Aaron, 05/28/09
I waited 17 years to see this and today I finally got my wish (I was in Lake George alone). That said, I thought this was a good experience for me, not exceptional but pretty good. Some stunts were awesome, my favorites included the Dracula transformation and the werewolf stunt. Some were dissappointing but the good outweighs the bad. I wouldn't recommend it for children under 10 as there are some bloody stunts (the most graphic is a heart removal from druids). Also included are two movie monsters Freddy Krueger and the Predator. One stunt has a nod to the haunted mansion from Disneyland. It was well worth the price of 8.99 and I might want to to enter again. One last thing, rumor has it that a ghost haunts one of the halls. The guide didn't believe it but it might be true to some.

Its like a history of death, torture, and murder made out of wax. I liked it very much.

Spine-Tingling Horrors Not Too Intense
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/16/06
Pros: Price is fairly cheap, Allowed to walk around by lonesome, cool information, some cool effects (nothing brilliant though) Cons: Sometimes lame displays, no tour guide (which would be cool only if you were also allowed to explore by yourself This is a good way to spend a half an hour or so. My mom and I went slow purposely and it still only took about a half an hour. It is definitely a cool spot to visit when walking through town though.

Campy Fun
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/16/06
If you don't go expecting anything amazing, it is certainly a fun way to spend some time. Half of it's charm is the sheer camp value of it all. I've been going there since i was a kid, and its something to look foward to when visiting Lake George

Cheesy but fun !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/09/06
This was a fun hour or so for my family - the price wasn't too bad and there were many exhibits ranging from 1960's retread displays to more modern fun. If you don't go expecting incredible effects and just want a fun way to pass a rainy hour or so you can enjoy it. This is not a Hollywood special effects location - some goofy paper mache people - some high quality monsters too. A mixed bag - but can be fun !
