Tofts Dairy & Ice Cream Parlour
A Sandusky tradition since 1900, this ice cream parlour is open year round, seven days a week and allows the young, and the young-at-heart, to enjoy a heaping cone or other dairy confections at a modern, family owned dairy.
We only make it back to Sandusky once a year but Tofts is visited at least twice during the week . A small with two flavors is still a huge amount of ice cream to end the day. They added more seating outside, but we usually drive down to the city pier and look at the bay while enjoying the ice cream. Good thing we don't live there anymore!
Toft's is hands down the best ice cream in the land! The value for your dollar is incredible as well. A medium-sized hot fudge sundae got me five whopping scoops of ice cream and eight pumps of the best-tasting gooiest fudge I've ever had (yes, I counted). Then it's topped with super salty, whole, spanish style peanuts and a mountain of whipped cream ($0.35 extra), served in a styrofoam (not paper) cup to keep your treat colder, longer. You'll need the extra time finish eating it. Served with a midwest smile for under $4, how can you beat it? The parlor is actually a dairy that contains an ice cream parlor, so don't expect a lot of seating. It matters not.
This is the best ice cream anywhere! I can't wait to go back. They are very friendly too! The kids can pick from many different flavors and they aren't extremely expensive. The best ice cream value anywhere!!
Toft's ice cream is a tradition...Absolutely delicious and the biggest cones anywhere. We always include a trip to Tofts anytime we are the lake...never disappointed. Do wish they had a dining room, or at least more picnic tables.
If you are looking for a lot of tremendous tasting ice cream for a reasonable price...Tofts in Sandusky is the place! Order a size small ice cream cone or ice cream in a cup and you will get a huge portion of heavenly tasting ice cream. Tofts is a must do every time we are in Sandusky!
Tofts is what ice-cream is all about. I have had ice-cream from Korea, Italy, Germany, Southwest Asia, France, Switzerland, and all throughout the good ol' USA. TOFTS in Sandusky is the best hands down. We will be back.
