Built along the Rappahannock River by Colonel William Dangerfield, this plantation was modest sized by the standards of the time, yet still very prosperous. A variety of fun activities for children, such as a corn maze and a pumpkin patch, are scheduled during the year. They are open November to mid-April.

What a fun time!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/05/07
I had the pleasure of being a chaperone on a trip to Belvedere Plantation last fall with my son's kindergarten class. It was a wonderful experience for my son and I, as neither of us had ever lived or been anywhere that you could actually see the seasons change just by looking around this place. The leaves were so beautiful and we had such fun strolling the pumpkin patch to choose one of our own to take home. We got to go on a hayride, as well as walk around a petting zoo and learn about bees and their honey. All of the children, parents and teachers on this trip seemed to love it!! I can't wait to take my family, hubby included this year. I will agree with another reviewer that in about 2 hrs time you've seen and done it all, but for us it was worth it!!

Escape to the country and breath the fresh air.
By Dorothy, 08/11/06
Enjoy picking your own strawberries or stop by the country market to purchase ready picked strawberries during the month May. They are some of the best strawberries you will ever put in your mouth!!! The fields are great and you get an informative hayride down to the patch for only $2.00. During the month of October (weekends only) visit them for their Fall Harvest Festival. Make family memories, explore the corn maze, slide down pumpkin mountain, swing on the ropes in the fun barn, ride the zip line, visit the old barnyard, and take a hayride to the acres of pumpkin fields and much more. There is so much to do you will want to stay the whole day. It is a great value for your money.
