Try Something New!
By Chris, 5/2/12
Worth the money! The Miami Seaquarium is just the right size and maintains the interest of the kids. The main reason for our adventure was to participate in the Swim with Dolphins. My 3 boys swam with the dolphins and truly had a BLAST! The experience was better than we had anticipated and was affordable.

Good Visit and Fun for the Family
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/11/12
My family was visiting and leaving in a couple of days; we decided to go to Miami Seaquarium. It was great fun and my parents really enjoyed it. The kids had fun watching the shows and being so close to dolphins, a whale and manatees. We would like to go again. The food is good, but we also had snacks with us (I have picky eaters). Don't expect Sea World, this is a small and local attraction; but it's perfect for fun and it doesn't take all day.

Magical!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/6/11
Upon arriving to Dolphin Harbor in Miami Seaquarium I was filled with both nerves and excitement, as I had never done anything before quite like what I was about to do. As soon as I entered the attraction, I was immediately made comfortable by the very friendly staff and all of my nerves went away! We were given wet suits and towels, then sat for an orientation. We were shown a video about dolphins and their life in their natural habitat, after the video, one of the dolphin trainers came in and educated us more on dolphins and her personal experience with them. What I loved is that I could tell that she genuinely loves and cares about dolphins and wanted us to have a great time with them, as she does. She explained the rules of dolphin swimming to us and proceeded to take us out to the pool. There, we were greeted by another couple of trainers. They had us do a series of tricks with the dolphins as well as feed them. Then, in groups of two, we got deeper into the pool with the dolphins and actually performed tricks WITH them. It was amazing to touch them and be literally face-to-face with them as they performed with us by their side. After everyone had their turn, we were shown how to ride them (hold onto the top fin with one hand and keep your body straight in the water behind). I have to say that the ride was my favorite part! One by one we rode all the way across the large pool with one of the two dolphins that we were in the pool with. By the end of the experience, I not only felt like a qualified trainer myself, but I truly did not want to leave! I definitely recommend this experience to everyone. I have always liked dolphins, but after touching their wet, rubbery skin and giggling at their funny, playful, and sensitive personalities, I am now just as in love as the trainer was! Also, dont worry if you have no one there to take photos of you because there are two members of staff on hand that are professional photographers and they take photos of you the entire way through that you can look at and buy at the end of the experience.

lovely time
By dnl, 4/6/11
liked the atmosphere, the views of the ocean in the background, the personality of those who work there, the animals that I got to see, the shows and how easy it was to get around. The food was good for a park and the prices seemed reasonable to me; spending less than 10 bucks on a meal is good to me. Will probably go back later this year when it's not so hot, lol.

Horrible experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/10/11
I was so sad by the conditions of the animals. Especially the orca tanks. I did some research after visiting and I discovered how their main orca Lolita was captured. Her entire pod in the wild was almost wiped out by drowning from the nets and bombs when they captured her. Now she is kept in a small tank and secluded from all the other orcas. Orcas are very social creatures and to be kept in a tank alone for their entire lives is worse then prison for us. Please do some research before going in and supporting Seaworld. Money is much better spent taking a vacation to WA to the San Juan Islands and seeing them in the wild. I live in WA and have done this. I will never walk into a seaworld institution again. The place is way to over priced. I would rather pay 50 dollars and take a whale charter boat tour. The lines are also long and the park is crowded. Food and water are also expensive and variety is limited. Please save your cash and go on a charter boat or a zoo instead.

Good Time
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/11/11
Good time with friends and family. Do not expect Sea World, this is different and calmer than the hectic big park. We went around the park and saw the shows all in about a little more than 4 hours. I liked that we were able to get so close to the animals and that there were feeding areas, really good for the kids. Food was good and good pricing, I have read reviews were people think that they are overpriced, but I thought that it was normal for a park... Obviously food is not going to be a buck or two. They have vending machines all around the park too, which was good. Clean restrooms and easy to find. If you don't want to get wet, make sure not to sit in the designated "wet" area.

Can't wait to head back to Miami Seaquarium
By M. Cruz, 10/11/10
Recently went to the Miami Seaquarium for the first time and had a great time with my husband. We got there early on a Saturday and made sure to see all of the shows. The whale show was fascinating and the trainers did a great job. We walked around and saw all of their other exhibits. We will be coming soon with our grandchildren!
