Lets face it, Austin is great for many things but great Chinese food is not one of them.We tried numerous places in the NW area but Amy s is the only one we can t get enough of; consistently fresh shrimp and veggies, great soups, just a really great place with nice décor and super friendly staff.
We have been to this restaurant several times and it is always delicious! The service can be a little slow sometimes because they tend to be understaffed some days. My favorite item there is the cashew chicken. They actually roast the cashews a little and it gives it a fantastic flavor! Other good dishes are the lo mein and General Tso's chicken. My one recommendation would be to add delivery service. They were going to do that when they first opened but have not added it yet. I think I would only get chinese from them if they started delivering too!! For now I go there when we go out for chinese and order from other local restaraunts when we stay home.
I really like this restaurant because it also serve Vietnamese food (spring roll, vermicelli and Shaken Beef). I heard that the chef has over 20 yrs experience and he used to cook for china cafe at Anderson. This restaurant is right in front of the Cinemark theater, I can eat before the movie start or after.
I love Shrimp delight, Sesame Chicken, and Shaken Beef.
