Sachs und Söhne, Nuremberg

This small cafe-restaurant has become a real gem since its new owner has been in charge. The mild yellow and pastel green walls give the place a friendly feel from the outset and the Mediterranean atmosphere is further enhanced by the wooden furniture. The blue bar area is a perfect place to stand and have a drink or two. When the weather is nice, the Hans-Sachs-Square on which Sachs and Söhne is situated, becomes a cobble-stoned sun deck as deckchairs begin to fill the area. The food on the menu is inspired by Italian and Mediterranean cooking so you could try delicious fine foods such as tuna fish steak, beansprout salad, poached salmon or stuffed courgette. The best thing is that last orders for food don't have to be in until midnight and if you are starting the day late then you can pop in here for breakfast until 2p. Sunday brunch is highly recommended (9am-3pm). Whenever you visit, be sure to sample some of the fine wines on offer. You could have a glass of Chilean Sauvignon, some Argentinean Merlot, some South-African table wine. The list is far to long to recount!
