Situated in a sheltered bay on the southwest tip of St Vincent, the hardworking harbour town of Kingstown is the island's commercial hub. On weekdays the town moves at a frantic pace, especially around the bustling jetty, bus station and fish market. The heat here can be fierce as sea breezes barely penetrate the compact, one-way streets, lined with warehouses and dense with human and commercial traffic.
