I would not recommend this place to anyone.just 2 months ago my family came from TN to visit me in panama city & it was the worst service I ve ever seen in my 25yrs of living.the food was ice cold for me & my family & when we asked to speak to the manager she refused to make new food & told us all that the food was fine. Also she wanted us to pay for the buffet for all 8 of my family me members when none of us actually ate the food.the manager then called the police on us because we did not want to pay for the service of ice cold food & extreme disrespect by manager.I promise you I am not exaggerating when I say by far the worst & most embarrassing restaurant experience I ve ever had.I think its very safe to say I will never return nor would I recommend it to any tourist or locals
I have been to Chow Time many times over the last several Years. The food is always Good to Excellent. Chinese food is some of the best around and there is a good selection. Service has always been excellent. Its a Buffet and they have a great selection. I went several times before I started picking my Favorites. Obviously their Steak may not be as good as Outback Steak House; Pizza won t be as good as an Italian Restaurant. Those types of Food are Good but not their specialty. If you arrive after 8:30 the items are not as well stocked; they should be but they aren t so be forewarned. I have seen several customers in the past literally piling food in their out take box and expecting to the standard charge. Chow Time has started charging by the pound for some items because of previous customers trying to take advantage of their low prices.
I tend to give at least a large portion of my Tip directly to the person that refilled my drinks. That is NOT always the waitress! The waitresses speak the best English, but occasionally they take your drink order and don t show up again until you leave the tip. A Bus Boy may be the one that checks to make sure your drinks are full and your coffee is Hot. That is the person I give the tip too! I have brought many guests to Chow Time and neither my guest nor I were ever disappointed! Just don t arrive near closing time.
Our family of 6 went there in July of this year! It was affordable and there was tons of food a variety for my 4 children. 2 eat seafood and 2 don't.
As far as the crab legs, they are all you can eat and the reason they limit you to 8 at a time is so that there are plenty for everyone. You can go back up as many times as you like for more. They kept it pretty full and we went there twice during our stay at PCB. We went on a Sunday evening and Friday evening. It was a great place to eat for our family of 6. Especially when another buffet near the beach was $30.00 with all you can eat crab legs, and this one was only 10.99 Friday - Sunday after 4pm for all you can eat including crab legs.
1. Food was okay, a lot of options but not anything appealing. We went there because of the good reviews but I guess we made a bad choice. We were looking for a place that offers crab legs at an affordable price, and this one is decent on the prices. I rate it 3 stars because the food was alright and the place was pretty clean and affordable. I would have rated it higher if there wasn't the long wait for crab legs. Also, there was a freakin sign near the crab legs saying 8 legs per plate. WTF? its an all-you-can-eat buffet. Not only do I have to wait a long line to get crab legs, but I can only get 8 pieces? There were never enough plates either. I had to look around the restaurant to find plates. Also, the waitress was nice at first but was slow on the refills. When we asked for refills, the waitress gave us a dirty look and asked a different waiter to refill it for us. He told her that his hands were dirty so she should do it. So when she finally refilled our drinks, she gave us another dirty look as if she didnt want to serve us. I guess it was our mistake for tipping her before we even left. She was nice until we tipped her. After we gave her her tip, she had an attitude problem. Her attitude just ruined our dinner.
I went their on 4/13/11 and was the worst experience ever they don't have crab legs anymore and the buffet was totally empty and the few things that were on the buffet were old and dry. it was only 830pm and they had over an hour and half left and new customers walking in the door. the only fresh thing on the buffet was the little salad bar. the mgr said that they don't put anything fresh out at this time they why did he try to make me pay full price for a half a buffet he did give me four dollars off so i spent 18 dollars for two people for dry old and nasty food but it was a okay salad
The family and I went to Chow Time today at 3:00. What a surprise! The food was excellent and fresh. The inside of Chow Time is very nice and clean. The staff there was also very nice. We have just moved here and Chow Time was recomended from people at my work and my wife's, glad we went. :)
