Nepal's holiest Hindu pilgrimage site, PASHUPATINATH (pronounced Posh- potty -not), is an amazing enclave of temples, cremation ghats, ritual bathers and half-naked sadhus. Often likened to India's Varanasi, many Nepalese claim that their site, while much smaller, is at least as holy, straddling as it does not only an ancient trading route from Tibet to India, but also a tirtha , or sacred crossroads.
