East of Mexico City, a fast road climbs steeply, with glorious views of the snowy heights of Popocatépetl and Ixtaccíhuatl, to PUEBLA . Little more than an hour on the bus from Mexico City, this is the Republic's fifth-largest city after Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey and Tijuana, and one of its hardest to pin down.
