The east-coast fishing port of MERSING , 130km north of Johor Bahru, is the main gateway to Pulau Tioman and the smaller islands of the Seribuat archipelago. The town is grouped around two main streets, Jalan Abu Bakar and Jalan Ismail, fanning out from a roundabout on Route 3. Express buses drop you off just before the roundabout, and at the R&R Plaza near the jetty. Buses depart from the R&R Plaza.
