JERANTUT is a small, busy town with only one major street, Jalan Besar. From Jerantut's bus station it's a five-minute walk south to Jalan Besar and the centre of town. The train station is off Jalan Besar, just behind Hotel Sri Emas . There are plenty of places to stay . One kilometre west of the train station on Jalan Benta is the large, rambling and good-value Jerantut Resthouse (tel 09/266 6200; $5–10), which offers free pick-up and has a dorm (RM8).
