MENAGGIO , 5km north, is a bustling village and lively resort that is a good base for hiking and cycling in the mountains as well as sunbathing and swimming. The ferry jetty is about five minutes' walk from the main square, Piazza Garibaldi, in and around which you'll find most of Menaggio's lakeside cafés and restaurants.
