The busy little town of CLONAKILTY ( www.clonakilty.ie ) makes a good base from which to explore the Seven Heads Peninsula and the beautiful shoreline to the south of here. The town itself is a pleasantly unassuming place, with plenty of live music in its pubs, but is most famous as the birthplace of the Republican leader Michael Collins .
