At the southern end of the Tegernsee, reached by bus or boat from the town, is the double village of ROTTACH-EGERN . From there, you can take a cable car (DM12/€6 single, DM20/€10 return) up the Wallberg (1722m) for a grandstand view over the lake and the surrounding hills. There's a pleasant terrace restaurant , Alpenwildpark , at the valley station.
