Arriving here in Geneva, we got free metro rides on their train system which brought us to within a few walkng blocks of the hotel. We were into our hotel room by10 a.m. and out exploring along Lake Leman as the French call it or Lake Geneva for the rest of us. We rented bikes sort of -- they're free -- and pedaled around the lake for almost two hours. We saw the jet of water shooting 453 feet into the air from every angle. Our hotel seems to have a construction project going on with the stairs, which serves as an unwanted alarm clock. The hammering turns in to drilling, which then turns to some other noise we can't quite tell what it is.... Yesterday was Ile de la Cite, including La Concierge, Palais Royal, Notre Dame, etc. While we were able to see all of the Notre Dame, the rest of the museum parts were closed due to a work strike, oh yes, the finer parts of Europe that I forgot about.
