A further 260km west it's a shock to come across LABRADOR CITY and neighbouring Wabush , two planned mining communities of wide streets and a couple of malls in the middle of nowhere; both were established in the 1950s and, with 10,500 people, make up the largest concentration of people in Labrador. Labrador City, as a terminus of the rail line from Sept-Îles, is a convenient gateway into Labrador's hinterland, but little else will bring you here.
