40/40 Club, New York

The 40/40 Club in Atlantic City hosted the Delta brothers and sisters party at the conclusion of their national conference this past weekend. It was an amazing time. We were all given VIP access to the second floor of the club which also includes all of the VIP rooms. The music was great and the drinks are a little pricey but we were feeling pretty nice when we got there anyway. I can't wait to go to their 4th of July weekend ALL WHITE PARTY or I'm sure the grand re-opening of the 40/40 Club in NYC is gonna be crazy!!!

I am a big sports fan and this place gives me the ability to watch the game in a private space. I made a table reservation but when I arrived at the club my friends and I were taken into the Jay-z Lounge to watch the NBA finals (Miami has unfortunately lost :(.. We were able to watch the game in a space that felt like home, play pool, eat great food, and most of our entire server was awesome. She made sure we were taken care of. I did not have to look for her if the water was low she was right there; if someone needed a drink she took care of it. Go check it out!!

i loved everything it great food and service went with 10 friends and watched the game didnt have any trouble at all definitely worth every penny

We did not enjoy Jay Z 40/40 club in NY Not to good But looks are deceiving. The pictures on line only showed the best attributed of the Bar Kind of like one of those Commercials where your mouth is watering and there is a succulent steak seared to perfection on a picture, but when you get you order She said go inside ask the bartender did someone turn your card in... Good idea! That should have been my first step but I panicked due to unwanted fraud. So we crossed the rope to get in, A (manager) man ask me to leave from under the dry canopy to come and talk to him in the rain...I replied that’s not necessary Ijust needed to retrieve my card he had made up his mind that he didn’t like my demeanor and said your friend can go in but you cant, and proceeded to try to convince my girls to leave me out side. Well you know true friends would never leave each other we left as fast as we arrived and was happy to do so. Even On my girls B-Day. The rule goes; when you arrive together you leave together. Note to JayZ, The impression staff gave is that they could care less how customers felt as long as they got a $10 cover charge. I felt disrespected and cheated and I want to believe that’s not the kind or environment your promoting . If your going to put your name behind something, Make it elegant at least hire staff starting with management that are courteous and welcoming to your customers, a simple nod, hello ,goodbye, thank you, or a smile wouldn’t hurt, I really wanted to come home with great stories about the 40/40 club. This was defiantly not that time. Truly Dissapointer

DO NOT GO TO THIS CLUB! I went here on New Years and when I arrived they had no record that I ever called and reserved tickets ( I paid for them over the phone). The two managers were rude and snide and did not give a damn. They did not do anything to resolve the situation. They just simply didnt care. I cant even find the words to describe how nasty they were. This is a low life kinda place. This place does not compete with high end places in NYC. It was funny cause there was also a line of folks with ticket confirmation from email and they too were waiting in a hallway cause their tickets were lost. It was 20 minutes till New Years and my husband and I ended up leaving cause the tickets were never found and no one would look for them. The interesting thing is that my credit card was charged for the tickets. I never saw the actual club but the hallway is a dump and to me a nice place is nice from the moment you set your foot inside. I cant tell you enough not to waste your time going to a club like this staffed with a bunch of very dumb employees. This place is in desperate need of a true manager that is educated. Hey J, You cant just get folks from the hood to run a club....Helloooooo?

I went the 40/40 club with friends last night to watch the fight. As a California native I was excited to be in the city for the first time, let alone the world famous 40/40 club. While standing outside Rhianna arrived and the lines were getting longer. We were all hyped up about the experience.....and then we got inside. We had reservations to eat dinner at 10, and were told by the events manager that we were confirmed. When we got inside all of the tables were full of people who had obviously come to watch the fight. Most of which I'd like to add were not in dress code. We had to get a waitress to figure out where were were supposed to sit....after waiting 45 minutes for someone to come and attempt to remedy the situation we were told that we could finally sit down, but in order to sit there was 260 minimum charge per person to sit..................WTF. And furthermore that that price was not guaranteed because the cost of tables was up to the managers discretion. We couldn't ever figure out who the managers were...they were not dressed appropriately. So we ended up not getting to eat at the table and ordered our food from the bar. The bar service was terrible......the bartenders were slow as &*^$!!! The did not make the drinks right...I order a Sex on the Beach drink....this drink is a brightly colored orange drink.....they gave me a murky green concoction and claimed that it was what I ordered when it visibly was not. We tried to complain to the manager....it was not successful.Deborah (the manager) was rude, hostile, un professional, she was not accommodating, nor was she appropriately dressed. She was dismissive and would not take any responsibility for the actions of the club because they were beyond her control..............What? The manager? saying things like this. Clearly the club is not being run be accountable business savvy people. Looks like they saved money on the staff by only hiring Puerto Ricans and a few black people. This is not what it was made out to be nor was it run by people who know what they are doing. In short, dont go.

I love this spot, i came here for the first time with my girlfriends, and we had a blast!! the dj is hot, the food is great, the drinks are awsome, and the service is the best!!! if youre looking for a good time in NYC, Go to the 4040 Club!

ive heard GREAT things about the 40 40 club; when reading these reviews, I was surprised! This place is awesome.People always focus on the negative more so than the positive on review sites. Anyway, my boys and i go to a sports bar on the UES everytime we get a chance to see the yankees game, btu we decided to change it up. My friend went to the 40 40 club one time with his co workers and suggested it. So we said why not try it out. we got there and I was in shock! place is so nice. Plasma TVs everywhere; then the huge projector in the center of the place was cool to see. Food was great!! We ordered a platter of philly cheesesteaks and a bucket of beer. Definitely would suggest for any sports game!

my boyfriend knew how much I was stressed with my new job at the same time moving! So he surprised me and got me one of the club's packages for my friends and I. We had an amazing time! We had roses, champagne, food, and danced the night away. It was exactly what I needed! The staff, music, and club was great and the food was delicious!! Definitely recommend!!

If you want to be hassled, deceived and overcharged then this the place for you. We made reservations for a table for my brother's 21st Birthday in advance for 11/15/08. I received email confirmation that a table would be reserved with no minimum or bottle service. However, when we arrived a number of servers and staff informed us that there is no such thing as reservations, a $60 dollar per person minimum or no table. The place was not packed when we arrived. We were led to the back near the re-entry area where we had to argue with a few of the wait staff in order to be seen by a manager. 15 minutes later the manager, MO, accommodated us by putting us in the ESPN room with no minimum. Although this was great, we still got screwed. My guest arrived and had to pay $10 dollars each to get in the door when it is clearly stated in the FAQ's on their website that there is no cover. see below: What is the cover charge? We never have a cover charge. When we took up this issue with one of the managers TOM, he was a complete jerk. He insisted that these little details could not be included on the website as it is too expensive to put all information on the site. He indicated that there is no information on the site regarding cover charge. When I persisted, he told me that my guest were not being charged a cover, but a door fee. What the hell!!!! I don't recommend this place because they try to hustle you, are unorganized and condescending.
