GERALDTON is situated in the middle of the Batavia Coast, 420km north of Perth and just 25km beyond Greenough. Now officially called Geraldton-Greenough after the 2007 amalgamation with its neighbour, it's the state's second-largest city and the traffic, bustling feel and busy shopping streets can feel a bit alien if you're coming from the north.Culture vultures will find some relief in Geraldton; in a fairly barren region art-wise, the museum and art gallery here are both excellent.
