Approaching GEELONG via its industrial outskirts, you can be forgiven for wanting to zip past the bland melange of fast-food outlets, petrol stations and suburban housing to the beckoning seaside attractions of the Bellarine Peninsula and the Great Ocean Road beyond. However, Geelong has made a big effort to shed its rust-bucket image, mainly by revamping the waterfront it had previously turned its back on, and while still not warranting an extended stay, the city centre is a pleasant enough place to do some exploring, combined with a lunch stop.

This road trip was our Easter holiday for 2010, been wanting to see the 12 apostles in great ocean road since we moved to Australia and so happy to finally made this trip . Left Sydney at 530AM and took the Hume Hi-way to Melbourne, had breakfast at Hungry Jacks Marulan and stopped at Gundagai for Lunch and nap at one of the park there. Its a small town surrounded with rivers and creeks and apparently the mosses are gigantic on that place. Day 2: Flight EY450 AUH-SYD Day 3: Arrived in to SYD on time at 07:15 and got to Shangri La Hotel by 08:30. Check in was on the 30th floor - the Horizons Club Lounge private check in for VIP's like oursleves with an unbelieveable view straight over the Harbour Bridge and Opera House.
