Love Babe s but today was a bad experience in the beginning! Got there at 12:30pm and was told by the hostess 60 to 70 minute wait! So we walked around to kill time. Came back 30 minutes late and approached the Hostess and asked How much longer ? She replied 10 minutes. Well 30 minutes passed. We approached the Hostess again.......but she refused to answer! Instead she was pretending to go in and out of the restaurant acting too busy to answer our question. After 15 minutes of watching her go in and out she finally acknowledge us and said They called us 30 minutes of our reservation and that no answer and we were considered a No Show . If that was the case why did she say 10 Minutes . Her was lucky that our server Shelby saved her by giving us good service!
I'm orginally from Ct and the one place where my parents always want to go is Babe's Chicken. My mom loves their salad dressing and i would say its defenitely different then what i'm used to but what do I know i grew up in the northeast. If you do go with a group its wise to order one of everything because their is always alot of sharing going around the table. Good food and atmosphere.
Salad: deliciously different dressing (a little like a sweet but colorless French), heavy on black pepper. Biscuits: amazing. Had one before, split one with, and put honey on one adter dinner. Smoked chicken: moist but heavy on the smokiness, almost to the point of wondering if liquid smoke had been added. Chicken strips: good but you must put gravy on them. Chicken fried steak: average. Needed tons of gravy too. Creamed corn: amazing. Mashed potatoes: good, nothing remarkable. Green beans: very salty. Service: friendly but needed to ask for drink refills more than once. Atmosphere: great for celebrations and large groups.
